I chose three words are "My American School". In my video, I showed Harold Washington College to people, because this is the first school I went to, when I moved to America.

Glog
This is my group's glog about popular culture. It includes four parts of popular culture, such as objects, people, events and places. When we did this glog, we went to Millennium Park, and ask a woman to do the interview for us. We talked about the differents between popular culture and high culture. In this glog, I chose the event was Obama won, and the person was Obama, because that was a popular thing what most people talked about at that time. Cloud Gate was in Millennium Park. It was an object which many people wanted to visit it.
Technology
Technology is very important in my daily life. I cannot leave them, because they make my life become more convenient. Also, they make my life funny and colorful. I usually use cell phone, computer, camera, mp3, television, and so on. Computer and cell phone are absolutely necessary for me. First of all, computer is very helpful for my life. I need to use it to complete my homework, because most homework needs to be typed in the Unite State. Also, computer can let me to contact my friends who are in China easily, and I can read the news on websites through computer. Secondly, cell phone also has much effect for me. It let me easily to contact my friends, let people can find me easily. Nowadays, cell phone has more functions, such as GPS, playing music and read websites. Thus, I can use cell phone to instead of mp3. Then I can enjoy my music by phone when I am on the way.
Movies
Movie Review—Ratatouille
A rat can cook, and human very like its foods. This is what happens in Ratatouille. “Anyone can cook” is the famous chef Gusteau’s motto. Anton Ego who is the France’s top food critic did not agree that, but when he saw what Remy did, he changed his mind.
“Secret” always appears in this movie. Skinner has a secret that he can get Gusteau’s business if no heir appears after a period of two years from Gusteau’s death. However, Gusteau’s heir appears when the date of the period of two years from Gusteau’s death almost expires. So Skinner wants to stop that person to get the business. On the other hand, Linguini and Remy also have secret. They cooperate to cook, but no one knows that. Because no one can believe a rat can cook and wants to try the food which is made by rat, they can not say the truth for anyone. They want the secret is nobody knows forever.
Anton Ego said, “Not everyone can become a great artist, but a great artist can come from anywhere.” This is what the movie wants to show us. Everyone has dream, but not anyone can realize their dreams. Ratatouille wants to let audiences know if people try their best to do on their dreams, then they can succeed on their dreams. I recommend people to watch this movie because it is funny and lets people enjoy the beautiful scripts.
Music
One of my favorite singer is Darin Zanyar. He is Swede, and burned on June 2nd1987. He knows three language, English, Swedish and Kurdish. His musical style is R&B and POP. In 2004 he became the runner-up on Swedish Idol, acquiring a large number of fans. In the beginning of 2005 Darin released his first record “The Anthem”. The album went gold and his first single “Money of nothing” went straight up to number 1 on the radio chart for several months and sold platinum. And the last album “Flashback” will release on December this year. “B What U Wanna B” is in Darin’s second album “Darin”, and that is what my favorite song also. Its style is R&B. This song stimulates people that everyone can become what they want to be. I like this song because it has good melody, nice rhythm, and a little bit childish. I think it is a cute song. This song said “you can be just the one you want to be” “we got that one nice dream we live for” “you never know what life could bring because nothing lasts forever, just hold on to the team you play for”

A Voice for the Lonely
Corey first learned of Roy Orbison’s death from radio at 4 a.m. The author admired radio did not talk too much about Roy Orbison’s death, but cut straight into “Only the Lonely”. This song lets the author remind many things about his past life. “Some songs carry us into a certain mood, some to a general region of our past lives.” “Only the Lonely” reminds him what he was doing when he was in high school. This is what the immediate effect of the news on Corey was.
When one song seemed to capture my feeling exactly, it must be have really wonderful lyrics. Of course, I had a song to capture my feeling exactly; it talked about a face what happen when children grow up. Its lyric was explaining what my feeling, so it made that song so appealing. When I heard the song, I will think about my childhood. In that time, I do not need to worry anything, but just play. However, after I grew up, I need to think about what I can do next, which majors are better for me, and how can find a good job, and so on. All of that are what I need to think everyday. Actually, that song also said when children grow up, their parents did not take care them any more. I heard a song and liked it could explain what I was thinking about. Thus, I was more moved by the lyrics than the tune. Hearing this song still affects my today, because I still need to make decisions for many things and I also very miss my childhood.
